THE EASTCHESTER/TUCKAHOE MISS COLUMBUS GIVEN SCHOLARSHIP.

Sponsored by the Generoso Pope Foundation, the Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge # 2583 – Order Sons of Italy, and the Eastchester Italian American Citizens Club, the Annual Scholarship Dinner Dance has taken place on September 28 in the splendid Fountainhead catering hall of New Rochelle. A seemingly never-ending flow of dishes, ranging from osso buco with polenta to freshly caught red snapper, from tagliolini with mushroom to fried calamari, satiated the refined palates of the 450 invitees to the event.

Introduced by the President of the Garibaldi Lodge of the Sons of Italy, Vito Catania, who was the official Master of Ceremonies, the spectacular tenor Teo Ricciardella inspired and moved the listeners with his powerful voice, giving emotional renditions of songs by Frank Sinatra, Lucio Dalla, Paul Anka and many more.

The night was fulfilling under all aspects, and nothing else would be asked by the people  in attendance, among whom there were numerous dignitaries, but for the name of the Scholarship winner, Miss Columbus 2012, who will represent her community at the yearly Eastchester/Tuckahoe Columbus Day Parade, the stunning Jessica Gulotta.

Present at the event were also the winners of the preceding editions, the Men of the Year, John J. Pappalardo Sr. and John D. Pappalardo, and various members of the De Pippo family, who received the Family Legacy Award.

Sponsorizzato dal Fondazione Generoso Pope, dalla Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge N ° 2583 dell’Ordine Figli d’Italia, e dal Club Cittadini Italo Americani di Eastchester, l’Annuale Scholarship Dinner Dance  ha avuto luogo il 28 settembre nello splendido ristorante Fountainhead di New Rochelle. Un flusso apparentemente infinito di piatti, che vanno dall’ossobuco con polenta al “red snapper” fresco di pesca, dai tagliolini con funghi ai calamari fritti, ha soddisfatto i palati raffinati dei 450 invitati alla manifestazione.

Presentato dal maestro di cerimonia, il presidente dell’associazione Sons of Italy di Eastchester, lo spettacolare Teo Ricciardella ha ispirato e commosso gli ascoltatori con la sua potente voce tenorile, dando interpretazioni emotive di canzoni di Frank Sinatra, Lucio Dalla, Paul Anka e molti altri.

La notte è stata appagante sotto tutti gli aspetti, e niente altro sarebbe stato chiesto dai presenti, tra i quali c’erano numerosi dignitari, ma di conoscere il nome della vincitrice della borsa di studio, Miss Columbus 2012, che rappresenterà la sua comunità alla annuale Eastchester / Tuckahoe Columbus Day Parade, la splendida Jessica Gulotta.

Presente alla manifestazione sono stati anche i vincitori delle edizioni precedenti, gli “Uomini dell’Anno”, John J. Pappalardo Sr. e John D. Pappalardo, e vari membri della famiglia De Pippo, che ha ricevuto il Family Legacy Award.
